During my first long-term stay in Japan in 2000, I was living with a family in Tokoname. Fascinating culture, different customs, exotic food, tea ceremony and ceramics, zen temples and the unforgettable famous Ensō symbol in calligraphy classes.
Ensō means “circle” in Japanese, symbolizes strength, elegance, enlightenment, an “expression of the moment”, when the mind is free to simply let the senses create.
The jewelry of the Ensō series is simple and at the same time extremely complex, just like life.
