In Germany, where Svenja was born, it rains a lot and the country has a lot of needle trees. Since she was a child, she loved it when the rain stopped, all children put on their rubber boots and went outside to play again. “We kids could still see the big drops hanging from the tips of the needles swaying in the wind keeping their balance and not falling down” she tells with a smile that shows good childhood memories.
In the DROPS series Svenja transforms this childhood memory into jewelry, thinking about shape and movement. “When using these jewelry pieces, I can still imagine the aromatic smell of the air after the storm”.
